If you want to receive radio and television programmes, you have to register with the Billag. If you do not do this, you may be fined. Births

Children born in hospital are registered directly by the hospital administration with the Arbon District Registry Office responsible. If the child is born at home, the parents must register the child personally with the registry office within three days of the birth. the registry office notifies the responsible places of origin or the responsible consulates if corresponding national agreements exist.

Brockenstube

The non-profit Women's Association in Amriswil runs a second-hand shop at Alleestrasse 11a and sells cheap books, tableware, everyday items, clothes, small items of furniture, etc.

3 pm until 7 pm
First Saturday in the month: 9 am until 12 noon

Goods will only be accepted during opening hours.

Burgbar

The Burgbar" in the romantic cider cellar of Hagenwil water castle is open every Wednesday and on the first Friday of the month from 8 pm onwards. Concerts and other events are held on Fridays. www.burgbar.com (Going out)

Bus

Amriswil is the transport hub of the orange buses of Autokurse Oberthurgau. From the SBB station in Amriswil, there are buses to Arbon, Bischofszell, Romanshorn or Muolen. There are also PostAuto buses to Münsterlingen Hospital from the Bahnhofplatz. Timetables: www.sbb.ch.
