Its counsellors assist in protecting people's livelihood, enable them to retain their self-employment, give instruction for self-help and promote social integration. Public holidays

Official public holidays in Amriswil are: New Year (1 January), St. Berchtold's Day (2 January), Good Friday, Easter Monday, 1 May, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, 1 August (national public holiday) and Christmas and Boxing Day (25/26 December). Factories and schools are closed on these days. With a few exceptions, shops are also closed.

Public transport

Amriswil is the regional centre of Upper Thurgau. The town has a SBB-Intercity stop on the line from Zurich to Romanshorn, is the transport hub of Autokurse Oberthurgau (AOT) and has a PostAuto link to Münsterlingen Hospital.
